Motocross Strecke MC Schweyen

The site in the Moselle department sits right on the German border and is run by Schweyen MX under president Felix Maurer. The operator's own page describes a main track of around 2.5 kilometres with 22 jumps and 16 corners of varying difficulty, plus an 800-metre junior track with three jumps for children and youngsters. No licence is required; according to MX Circuit it is open daily from 15 February to 15 November, a riding day costs 13 euros and a ten-ride card 220 euros. The site has a playground, toilets with showers at weekends, free parking and camping for a maximum of eight days. The operator requires an environmental mat under the bike, insists you take your own rubbish away and bans open fires other than a grill; registration and payment have to be done by 15:00. Quads are no longer allowed on the motocross track following accidents, and sidecars are weekdays only. The operator announces closure days on its own page. 22 jumps in one lap means you are constantly in the air and constantly landing, and the suspension gets more work at the faces than in the corners. Our records also hold elevation change and a worn, choppy surface at 278 metres altitude, so the hits start well before the take-off edge. When the rear comes up at the face and the bike kicks, rebound sits top of our cause list: it returns too fast and throws the rear up - slow it down, that is a few clicks less out.
