MACRO Rhenen (Kwintelooijen)

Motor- en Autoclub Rhenen en Omstreken (MACRO) says it was founded on 10 September 1945 by Rhenen residents who put abandoned Canadian military motorcycles back on the road after the war. The club runs Circuit Kwintelooijen on the Oude Veensegrindweg in Rhenen, a semi-permanent site inside a recreational nature area. The club highlights elevation change of 60 metres and writes that the layout resembles a foreign track more than a Dutch one. The point that decides your planning: MACRO states that it offers no training. Riding happens at three multi-day events a year, among them an international motocross on Ascension Day. Our own record lists roughly 1,980 metres of track length, a hard surface, plus off-camber passages, technical sections and jumps. On hard ground with 60 metres of elevation change it is contact patch rather than force that decides things: dropping downhill into a hardened corner, the front quickly gives you too little feedback, and off-camber sections make that worse. On hardpack, top of our cause list is too much front tyre pressure, because it shrinks the contact patch and leaves the front feeling vague. Drop the front pressure a little so more rubber sits on the ground.
