MSC Ballenstedt

The motocross and enduro facility of MSC Ballenstedt e.V. lies An den Gegensteinen on the edge of Ballenstedt, right in front of the rock formation of the Gegensteine, which belongs to the Teufelsmauer. The regional portal Das Selketal describes a spacious start-finish area, several jumps and hard ground, plus a water hole, a table jump and several trail climbs and descents. It is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from 10:00 to 18:00; the track directory mxmap.de lists the same three days and the same hours. A track length is not publicly documented, and neither is a fee schedule. Our records hold a hard surface with jumps and elevation change, which fits that description. Hard ground absorbs nothing: the impact of a landing goes into the suspension almost unfiltered, and with every lap the jump face gets cleaner and is therefore approached faster. When the suspension bottoms hard on those landings, top of our cause list is a rear high-speed compression that is too soft - add some so the rear takes the hit under control instead of running out of travel.
