Motocross Lieoux

The Moto Club du Comminges, founded in 1947 by its own account, runs the track near Lieoux south of Saint-Gaudens; the site is on the Chemin de la Gourride and is FFM-homologated for motocross and quad. The club writes that riding normally takes place on the third and fourth Sunday of the month, weather permitting, and that it announces the situation on Facebook the day before. An FFM licence is mandatory, as are helmet, boots and gloves; newly licensed riders also need the CASM sports medical certificate. There is a dedicated children's track from around five or six years old with 50cc machines, plus regular introduction sessions with a qualified instructor. The club puts on regional and national competitions, up to rounds for historic motorcycles. mxcircuit.fr adds 1832 metres of length at 6 to 8 metres wide, clay-bearing earth as the ground, a wash station, and a rebuild for the FFM homologation in which a camel hump was replaced by a small table and a sugar loaf was put in before the finish line. Clay-bearing earth holds ruts once they are worn in: the line guides you, but it also pulls the front wheel down. Top of our cause list when the front knifes into a rut and oversteers is a fork sitting too deep - add compression at the front so it stays higher in the stroke and does not fold away in the rut.
