Vision and line in ruts
Motocross · intermediate · cornering
A rut works only if you commit to it. Look through the rut to its exit, not down at your front wheel - your bike follows your eyes. Lean the bike into the rut while keeping your body more upright, weight the outside peg, and hold a steady, slightly positive throttle so the bike drives through instead of stalling its momentum. Keep your elbows up and stay loose so the bike can track the groove. The classic mistakes are looking down, chopping the throttle mid-rut, and stiffening up - all three make the front climb out or knife. Pick the deepest, freshest rut for the most grip, and enter it straight so the front drops in cleanly.
A starting point to verify on the bike - not a safety guarantee. Change one thing at a time and check on track.
