Circuit du Puy de Poursay - Saint-Jean-d'Angely

The Circuit du Puy de Poursay at Saint-Jean-d'Angely belongs to Moto Club Angerien, which describes the venue on its own site as a public arena with 40000 places across a 44-hectare site with nine refreshment stands. By its own account the club has staged 23 Motocross World Championship rounds and two editions of the Motocross des Nations. Training runs on Sundays from 9am to noon and from 2pm to 6pm, with the gate closing at 6pm. The club charges 20 euros per rider for a full day and 15 euros for a half day; quads and sidecars pay 25 and 20 euros, and a camping pitch costs 15 euros per vehicle. A valid FFM licence or a circuit pass taken out through the FFM is required, and Ufolep licences are explicitly not accepted. Track access starts at 85cc; 65cc machines are excluded from regular sessions. An environmental mat in the paddock is mandatory, a wash bay is available, and the directory mxcircuit.fr lists the course at 1800 metres long and 6 to 8 metres wide with international classification. Our own record lists a fast, technical layout with jumps, and a world championship venue of this size asks above all for calm at speed. If the bike goes vague and wanders through a fast sweeper, the balance between ride height and sag is top of our cause list: set sag first, before you touch compression or rebound. And since riding is Sundays only, plan the visit for a Sunday rather than a free weekday.
