Hardwick near Sedgefield is more a site than a track: five separate circuits sit side by side - the main MX track, an intermediate one, a flat oval for learners, a kids-only MX course and a second flat oval for the youngest. Prices are graded by circuit: 30 pounds on the main track, 25 on the intermediate and the learner oval, 20 on the two kids' tracks, spectators pay 2. It is open most weekends, but the operator asks explicitly that you confirm first. Bikes and quads can be hired, coaching is available, and single tracks or the whole site can be booked privately. That grading is the real benefit for you: you can get a drill clean on the oval and then take it onto the main track without moving between two venues. Jumping produces one problem more reliably than anything else: the rear kicks off the face. First on our cause list is shock rebound - it returns too fast and throws the back end up. Wind it in, a few clicks fewer out.
