Snetterton

Snetterton sits in Norfolk and is run by MotorSport Vision, which took the circuit over in January 2004. The site was previously the RAF Snetterton Heath airfield, which according to Wikipedia opened in May 1943 and closed in November 1948; the Aston Martin Owners Club held the first open motorsport meeting there on 27 October 1951. Three layouts are in use today: the Snetterton 300 measures 4.779 km with twelve corners, the 200 runs to 3.219 km with eight, and the 100 to 1.577 km with five. The corner names recall Riches, Wilson, Palmer, Hamilton, Williams, Brundle and Nelson. The British Superbike Championship has raced here since 1996, alongside the British Touring Car Championship and the Willhire 24 Hour, which ran from 1980 to 1994. The operator sells bike trackdays, test days and track evenings as separate products on its own site. The long 300 layout links fast sweepers to a tighter technical section, so you carry high corner speed for long stretches and still have to change direction quickly. That is exactly where a wrong ride height shows up. If the bike goes vague through the fast sweepers or starts to weave on the straights, top of our cause list is not damping but the balance between ride height and sag - when that is off, the bike feels loose at speed.
