Velky Osek is pure sand, and the Czech portal MX trate recommends it explicitly for pre-season preparation. The reason is simple: sand forgives nothing in fitness and little in technique. You sit further back, stay on the throttle longer and keep the front light - brake in sand the way you brake on loam and you dig in. A rebuild has made the lap slightly longer. The track is most valuable in winter: sand stays rideable long after loam tracks have turned to concrete or soup. Expect to work considerably harder than on any hardpack lap of the same length.
