Track details
Dry sand gets deep and physical - the front wants to knife in; traction comes from throttle and the rear suspension.
Damp sand hooks up and gets faster - more grip, but heavier, blunt braking zones.

The Moto-Club Latronquiere runs the track at the Sireyol site near Latronquiere in the Lot department. According to mxcircuit.fr the course is 1800 metres long and 6 metres wide; the ground is sandy earth and rideable in any weather. The directory names numerous banked corners plus tables from 10 to 28 metres, and records that the track is prepared before every opening and is meant for all riding levels. It opens on the second and fourth Sunday of each month; an FFM or UFOLEP licence is required and motorcycles are allowed. A day fee is not publicly documented. Sandy earth gives way under load in a way firm ground does not, and the rear starts working as soon as you get on the throttle in the run-up to one of the long tables. Top of our cause list for a rear that pogos and swims in sand is rebound that is too fast - slow it by a few clicks so the rear stays in the ground after it compresses and pushes you cleanly onto the jump face.
Track condition today
Sand at 19 °C, no rain right now - good conditions to ride.
