Motocross Goult

Moto Club de Goult runs the track on the Allee de Verdun in 84220 Goult, in the middle of the Luberon. The directory mxcircuit.fr lists it at 1750 metres long and 6 to 8 metres wide and describes the ground as natural, sandy and silica-clay soil. Riding is on Saturdays from 14:00 to 18:00 and on Sundays from 9:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 18:00, the day rate is 10 euros, and FFM and UFOLEP licences are accepted. Bikes, quads and sidecars are allowed; the listed facilities are water, toilets and a wash-down area. Twice a year the club puts on an endurance race across a weekend. Sandy ground with a clay content holds together better than pure dune sand, but it still digs out under power, and the longer the day runs the more the rear works in loose material instead of on firm ground. For sand, top of our cause list is a rear that pogos and starts to swim in the deep stuff. The strongest cause we record is rebound set too fast for sand - slow it down by winding a few clicks back in so the rear stops building itself up from bump to bump.
