Landrake Moto Parc

Landrake Moto Parc sits near Saltash in Cornwall, about three miles from Plymouth and close to the A38. The operator writes on its own site that the venue was created in 1995 and covers 25 acres, with ten more available for larger events. The track is 1900 metres long, at least ten metres wide and up to 15 metres in places, and it sits in a valley with trees down one side; a lap takes more than two minutes. The layout includes a whoop section, raised berms, ski ramps, step-ups and step-downs, table tops and rhythm sections, plus 40 GP-standard start gates and a 110 metre start straight. On site there is hot food, water and toilets, and paramedics are present at every event. Rounds of the Maxxis British Championship and the Red Bull Pro Nationals have been run here, along with schoolboy classes and sidecar and quad races. Ski ramps, step-ups and step-downs mean you hit the face under power, and what the suspension does at the lip decides the landing. If the rear kicks up at the face and the bike bucks, top of our cause list is a rear rebound that returns too fast - slow it down so it stops launching the back end.
