Dorva MX

DORVA MX is run by the Drumheller Offroad Vehicle Association in Drumheller, Alberta. The association lists three tracks on the property: Main Track, Vet Track and East Track. Access is tightly governed - nobody may ride without a day pass or a valid annual membership, and everyone has to sign the online liability waiver in advance. A day pass costs 10 to 30 Canadian dollars, 25 to 45 dollars with camping, and camping alone is 15 dollars. Annual membership is 200 dollars for youth, 350 dollars for adults and 600 dollars for families. Helmets and protective footwear are mandatory, riders under eight need adult supervision, the prescribed track direction applies to everyone, and the facility gate must be closed and locked at all times. Events held here include a vintage motocross by VMX Alberta for machines built in 1998 or earlier. Our record holds hardpack with jumps, technical sections and off-camber corners. Off camber means the ground falls away out of the corner radius, the tyres get less load, and in flat corners the front pushes wide instead of biting. Top of our cause list is a fork that is too firm and rides too high in its travel, so it never builds front bite. Open the front compression a few clicks so the fork works and the front wheel takes load.
