The course at Paterek near Nakło nad Notecią is an amateur project, but not one built with a spade: an excavator and a bulldozer put two jumps, two descents, two climbs and a series of turns into the ground. The surface is mainly sand with a gravel content. The site is used by the Nadnoteckie Sokoły motorcycle section and by members of the LOK club in Nakło; for riders from Bydgoszcz it is about forty kilometres. Polish reports name one limitation outright: two bikes side by side do not fit here. The map records 62 metres. When a track does not allow riding two abreast, the session plan matters more than the setup. Ride in blocks rather than in a pack and agree beforehand who is out when - otherwise you spend the day taking evasive action. In sand, this then joins in and catches almost everyone: the rear pogos and swims. Top of our list is rear rebound - for sand it is usually too fast; fewer clicks out and the rear settles.
