The "Guido Catini" circuit sits in Contrada Capparuccia in Ponzano di Fermo in the Marche and is run by Moto Club Azzolino. Turismo Marche describes it as a course on a natural, south-facing promontory, with a mixed surface of sand and earth and jumps of medium difficulty; the demanding part is the descents, because they are long and fast and often rutted on the landing. Alongside the main circuit there is an enduro course and areas for minicross and pit bikes. The directory mxcenter.it lists 1500 metres, category 1 and registrations with FMI, UISP and AICS, and gives the times as Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm, plus Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 pm to midnight in summer between 1 June and 15 September. The venue has floodlighting, a bar, a cold shower and 220-volt outlets; no fees are published. Deep ruts at the end of a fast descent are where the front wheel takes the decision away from you: it knifes in and oversteers instead of following the rut. Top of our cause list for that is a fork that is too soft and rides too low in its travel, so it folds into the rut. Add compression at the front so the fork stays high enough and the front holds the line.
