Polea Camp on Carretera de San Antonio in Cunit, Tarragona, is not a track you simply drop into - the venue is the base of the motocross school of the same name and opens exclusively for organised camps, events and groups of at least 15 riders. Arriving alone hoping to buy a session will not work. That is not a criticism, it is the business model, and worth knowing before you drive the 40 minutes from Barcelona. The main course offers four intermediate tabletops, doubles, natural jumps, pronounced elevation changes and 12 corners; alongside it are a dirt track, a flat track and a pit-bike loop for children. Around the track a workshop, pool, padel court and accommodation are part of the concept - three minutes' drive from the beach at Cunit. Sandy ground plus elevation produces the problem that comes up almost every afternoon at camp: the rear pogos and swims. Our first cause is rebound that is too fast at the rear - fewer clicks out and the back end stops building itself up.
