Myjava costs nothing. The Slovak track directory lists it with practice on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, from the morning until 20:00, and under fees it simply says: free. Rounds of the Slovak championship and of the Malokarpatský pohár have been run here. The ground offers whoops, jumps, berms, toboggans and worn-in ruts; the track can be ridden in both directions. Štefan Bučenec from Piešťany is in charge. Both directions are the most interesting thing about this place. A rut that holds you one way tips you the other; a jump you know suddenly has a different run-up. When the direction is switched, treat the first laps like an unfamiliar track - because that is exactly what it is. That is also where the most common problem shows up: the front knifes into the rut and oversteers. Top of our list is a fork set too soft that dives too deep - add compression and it stops folding away.
