Thruxton Circuit

Thruxton sits near Andover in Hampshire and is run by Thruxton Experiences and Thruxton Motorsport; according to Wikipedia the owner is Thruxton Circuit Ltd, and the British Automobile Racing Club has its headquarters on site. The track follows the perimeter road of RAF Thruxton, an airfield built in 1942, and was established as a circuit in 1968. It measures 3.793 km with twelve corners, among them the very fast Church. Thruxton is known as the fastest circuit in the UK, with cars passing 300 km/h. The British Superbike Championship has raced here since 1990, continuously from 1996 to 2019 and again from 2021. One point matters for planning: because of planning restrictions the venue may only run twelve days of motorsport a year, currently three for motorcycle racing and nine for cars and trucks. The track was last resurfaced in 2000. The site also holds a kart centre, a 4x4 off-road centre and a skid pan. The layout is almost entirely long full-throttle sweepers; the bike sits pinned for long stretches and gets very little recovery. That is where a wrong ride height shows up immediately. If it starts to weave on the straights or feels imprecise through the fast bends, top of our cause list is a rear sitting too high, or a sag balance that is simply off - sort that out first, before you go near the damping.
