Southease MX & Pitbike

At South Farm in Rodmell, on the C7 between Lewes and Newhaven in the middle of the South Downs, sit two professionally built circuits: the motocross track at over a mile - around 1.6 kilometres - with big jumps for the more advanced, plus a decently sized kids' and pitbike track. Riders are welcome from six years old. The decisive point for your planning is the calendar: Southease opens on 26 Saturdays a year, from 10:00 to 15:00, and not otherwise. A NORA licence is mandatory and runs for the whole calendar year. Five hours on a single day of the week is a tight window. Arrive with the bike fully prepared and plan the time in advance - the day is too short to start it with spanners. On hard ground the most common feedback is a front that feels vague and builds little grip. Top of our cause list is front tyre pressure: on hardpack it is usually too high. Let some out, the contact patch grows and the front starts talking again.
