Pohorelice - more precisely Zabcice, south of Brno - is a long technical lap: 2000 metres on a base of sand and loam, as the Czech portal MX trate lists it. Two things make the place unusually practical. First the hours: Monday to Sunday from 9 to 18, so no hunting for the one afternoon that happens to be open. Second, there is a childrens track alongside the main one, which makes a family day possible. The sand-loam mix is the comfortable compromise: it carries better than pure loam in the wet and costs less energy than pure sand.
