Dry hardpack turns hard, slick and dusty - little grip reserve, especially on corner exit.
After rain a greasy film forms on the hard base - very slippery until the surface dries.

Moto Club Pertuis Durance Luberon, under president Jean-Marc Charpin, runs four separate courses near Pertuis in the Vaucluse: the motocross lap of 1,700 metres at 5 to 7 metres wide on natural stony ground, a supercross track of 800 metres on softer sandy ground, a pit bike loop of 300 metres and a children's track of 800 metres. According to mxcircuit.fr it opens on the first and third weekend of every month, Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30am to noon and from 1:30pm to 6pm. A day costs 10 euros and an FFM licence is required. During school holidays a riding school runs on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and it has to be booked in advance. Water, mains power, toilets and a wash bay are on site. Stony natural ground stays hard and absorbs nothing: short, sharp braking bumps build up in front of the corners, and the fork starts to hammer through them instead of swallowing them. Top of our cause list for that is low-speed compression that is too firm at the front - open it a few clicks so the fork picks up the small chop again.
