Circuit de Pernes-les-Fontaines

The track at Pernes-les-Fontaines in the Vaucluse is run by Moto-Club Pernois and has an unusually long racing record. According to a report on dailymotocross.fr, more than ten Grands Prix were held here between 1960 and 1997, along with sidecar world championship rounds; the last international meeting ran in 2006, when Christophe Pourcel won the MX2 class and Stefan Everts the MX1 class. An international is announced again for 8 February 2026, with Romain Febvre and Maxime Renaux among the entries. For open practice, mxc40.com lists the first and third weekend of the month, Saturday and/or Sunday from 9.30am to noon and from 2pm to 5pm, 25 euros per day and a refreshment stand; mxcircuit.fr differs and lists 10 euros per day with times from 9am to noon and 2pm to 6pm. Both directories require an FFM licence, describe the course as natural terrain and state explicitly that you have to phone before setting off - it only opens on certain weekends. Alongside motorcycles, quads and sidecars are allowed. Our record has this one down as hard, low-grip ground, which is what Provence gives you for much of the year. If the front feels vague on it and you simply have no bite up there: top of our cause list is too much front tyre pressure - drop it so the contact patch grows and the tyre gets something to hold on to.
