MC Volgas has been riding since 10 July 1964 and has held races at De Leemkuil on Driererweg in Ermelo since 1968 - a sand-and-clay track in woodland, kept in shape by members and volunteers. The name of the venue already says this is not pure dune sand. In the winter half of the year practice is Wednesday 13:00 to 16:45, and Saturday 13:00 to 17:00 all year round; in summer the Wednesday session moves to the evening. Everyone riding here needs a valid KNMV licence. Woodland tracks have a quirk you cannot see on paper: light and ground moisture change within a single lap. What still carries in the shade is dry in the sun. Ride the first lap deliberately as reconnaissance, not as a time check.
