The De Ruttense Brug circuit on Ruttenseweg in the Noordoostpolder measures 1250 metres and mixes sand with clay - the combination that is standard in flat Flevoland: quick to ride, yet technical enough that line choice decides the lap. Practice runs Wednesday 17:00 to 21:00, Saturday 13:00 to 17:00 and Sunday 12:00 to 16:00. A valid KNMV licence is required; riders without one get a 20-minute window on every full hour. Those 20 minutes are where you have to commit. One window is not enough for warming up, experimenting and correcting all at once - go out with a single clear goal and make changes between windows, never during one. What wrecks the rhythm on technical sections: the engine stalls in the tight stuff. First on our cause list is the drivetrain side - a dragging clutch or a flywheel that is too light. A flywheel weight or a properly set-up clutch takes the low-rpm stalling out.
