Track details
Dry sand gets deep and physical - the front wants to knife in; traction comes from throttle and the rear suspension.
Damp sand hooks up and gets faster - more grip, but heavier, blunt braking zones.

The track at Ueckermuende is the home circuit of MC Ueckermuende, founded in 1959 according to the regional paper Nordkurier. The club runs its motocross meeting there, which the paper most recently covered in its 59th edition - an event with almost six decades of history. Race day runs to a tight schedule: practice runs start at 8 a.m., racing from 11.40 a.m. The classes are MX 1, LVMX Quad, EMX Open and Youngster 125; the club expects riders from across northern Germany and several hundred spectators. The venue sits as a motodrome on the edge of the harbour town on the Stettin lagoon. Fixed practice hours, fees and access rules for guest riders are not covered by this source. Our records list sand as the surface and a layout with jumps. Sand means work at the rear above all: the rear wheel digs in, pushes material up, and the suspension works through a far bigger stroke than on firm ground - and the line changes over the day as flat corners turn into ruts. When the rear starts to pogo and effectively swim, the top entry on our cause list is rebound that is too fast for sand: slow it down, fewer clicks out, so the rear stops bouncing itself up.
