Fermignano - San Gregorio

The Crossodromo La Ginestra lies at San Gregorio, a hamlet of Fermignano in the province of Pesaro-Urbino, and is run by Motoclub Fermignanese. The Marche tourism portal describes it as one of the tracks with the greatest elevation change in Europe: around 108 metres between its highest and lowest point, spread over three different types of ground, which is why both practised riders and beginners use it. The Mxcenter track directory lists the circuit at 1,700 metres, category 2, homologated by FMI and UISP, on hard earth. It opens Wednesday and Saturday from 2 pm and all day Sunday, and is usually closed in August; the directory advises making contact first because times can change without notice. A bar, cold and hot showers, 220-volt outlets and a minicross loop are on site; there is no floodlighting. Elevation change on that scale mostly means long, steep descents, and those load the front harder than any jump: you brake downhill, the weight moves forward, and the fork is already deep in its travel before the corner even starts. If the front dives heavily under braking, top of our cause list is compression that is too soft: add some so the fork stays higher under braking and leaves you reserve for the corner entry.
