Track details
Dry hardpack turns hard, slick and dusty - little grip reserve, especially on corner exit.
After rain a greasy film forms on the hard base - very slippery until the surface dries.
What sets this venue apart is its address: Evergreen Motocross Park sits on 179th Avenue SE inside Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, about 35 miles northeast of Seattle - in other words, inside an established motorsport complex. That lets motocross, flat track, supermoto and off-road run at the same time. A motocross, a peewee and a supermoto course are documented on site, with lights for evening running; the ground counts as sandy and loose with plenty of traction, and the season ran April through October. Sources describe every corner type from flat and rutted through railing berms to off-camber stretches, plus tabletops, step-ups, step-downs and a rhythm section. Hours are listed as Tuesday to Thursday, 15:00 to 20:00. Off-camber is the reason you look slower here and are faster. On a surface that falls away, the winner is not the rider who gets on the gas earlier but the one whose eyes are already at the exit, pulling the bike through upright. And that is where this happens most: the front pushes and washes out in flat corners. Top of our cause list is a fork that is too firm and riding too high, giving no front bite - soften the compression a little.
