Competitive Edge MX Park (CEMX)

Aspen Street in Hesperia climbs out to about 3,650 feet into the California high desert, and that is where the roughly 100 acres of Competitive Edge MX Park lie. The place was known for how it was divided: four individually fenced courses - a kids' track for 50 to 110cc, a floodlit pit bike track, the main course with its own starting gate, and a further course laid out as pure natural terrain on a hillside. The ground is described as loose throughout, with berms everywhere and jumps in both size classes. There is no shade on site; water, fuel and RV services are down in Hesperia. High desert means one thing above all: the ground changes over the day faster than you can change your setup. What still hooked up in the morning is dusty and flat by the afternoon, and then clicks stop helping - only different lines do. What annoys you first in worn ruts: the front knifes and oversteers. Top of our cause list is a fork riding too deep - add compression so it stops folding into the rut.
