Claverack MX

Claverack is not a practice track, and that is the most important line about the place: motocross has been raced on the farm on Tishauser Road near Hudson since 1971, but open practice has never been held here. Four race dates fill the year - in 2026 the Scott Sheak Memorial on 26 April, 17 May, the Bob Brew Memorial on 2 August and 13 September. The running order is the same at all four: sign-up from 07:00, practice from 08:00, first race at 10:30. Metropolitan Sports Committee membership is mandatory and can be bought on site, and quads are not permitted. Around 50 acres, a concrete starting pad, dark loamy soil with grassy infields, ample parking, a concession stand and cold showers. Four dates a year means you get no weeks of familiarisation - you get exactly one practice session in the morning. Arrive with a setup you trust and spend that session learning the track, not trying clicks. On technical ground the classic is the engine dying in the tight sections. First on our cause list: a dragging clutch or a light flywheel - a flywheel weight carries the low revs without the bike cutting out.
