The track sits on the back side of the Ross County Fairgrounds on Fairgrounds Road in Chillicothe and is run by Scott Plessinger and his crew. What sets it apart is not one jump but a principle: the sand-clay ground is shaped into three different jump layouts that get rotated through the season - from beginner-friendly singles and table tops to pro-level rhythm sections. Add camping infrastructure with few equals in the United States: over 1100 sites with power and water, paved pull-through roads, free tent camping, shower houses, bike wash, a dump station, food vendors and the facility's own trackside radio. Admission starts at 30 dollars, and there is a mini track plus a balance-bike programme for the youngest. Come here twice in a year and you ride two different tracks. Use that: walk the layout before your first session instead of trusting last year's memory - the rebuilds are the whole point. The problem that catches nearly everyone on jump faces: the bike kicks and bucks instead of leaving cleanly. First on our cause list is rebound that returns too fast and launches the rear off the face - slow it down, which means fewer clicks out.
