Borgo Santa Rita

The Crossodromo Borgo Santa Rita sits in the village of the same name in the municipality of Cinigiano, province of Grosseto. The directory tracks.mxcenter.it lists it at 1670 metres, soft ground, category 2, homologated by FMI and UISP, and open all year on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Listed facilities are a bar, cold and hot showers, 220-volt outlets and a minicross area; there is no floodlighting, and a flat track circuit belongs to the venue alongside the motocross course. The sports body UISP Grosseto reports that a flood of the Orcia river submerged the track in November 2019 and that the Donnini family rebuilt the facility in five months of work from early February 2021, including an electronic video surveillance system. It reopened on 19 September 2021 with round four of the regional championship, racing from 8:30 in the morning. UISP describes the layout as flat, and therefore also suitable for children. Soft, level ground builds ruts over the course of a day, and in a rut the front wheel decides the outcome: it knifes in and oversteers instead of following the line. Top of our cause list for that is a fork riding too low and folding into the rut. Add compression so the front stays higher in its travel.
