24MX Alestrem Hard Enduro (Alès)

The 24MX Alestrem is not a permanently open practice ground but a hard enduro race in the Gard department of southern France. It is run at the Pole Mecanique Ales Cevennes near Ales. The 2026 edition is scheduled for 17, 18 and 19 April. That edition is the season opener of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship and at the same time the tenth running of the race, which the gear retailer 24MX has backed for years and which carries its name. Across the three days the programme covers an Xtrem Test, prologue races and the main endurance race, for which a lap distance of 30 kilometres is given. Top international riders start alongside amateurs - Wade Young, Alfredo Gomez and Teodor Kabakchiev are among the names reported. Entry fees, class structure and the closing date for entries are not documented in the sources we read. The terrain is described as technical: rock gardens, forest sections and grown natural obstacles. Our own record lists hardpack as the surface plus the traits technical and tight. Over a 30 kilometre lap that mostly means low-rpm work - set up, stop, set up again, almost no rhythm. That is exactly where the engine stalls in tight technical sections. Top of our cause list is a dragging clutch or a light flywheel; a flywheel weight or a clean clutch setup cuts low-rpm stalling. Treat it as a starting point, not a guarantee.
