Unadilla is family owned and operated in the second generation: siblings Greg and Jill Robinson took over from founder Ward Robinson in 2010. The track lies on State Highway 8 near New Berlin, New York, on the grounds of a former dairy farm. The operator dates the founding to 1969 and describes the layout as European in nature; the racing area sprawls over 55 acres and the whole property covers 550 acres. The race history is unusually dense: Trans-AMA from 1970 to 1978, Trans-USA from 1979 to 1981, the 250cc USGP from 1978 to 1992, the 1987 Motocross des Nations as that event's first appearance on US soil, and a round of the US Pro National Championship since 1989. Named sections include the Gravity Cavity, The Wall and the Sky Shot. Our record lists loam with pronounced off-camber, technical, jumping and fast sections - the grown farm terrain dictates the lines instead of them being built into a flat field. On a slope that falls away with no berm to lean on, the front only holds if it gets loaded at all. Top of our cause list for a front that washes out in flat corners is a fork that is too firm and rides too high to build any edge bite - take a few clicks of compression out of it.
