SMX Concept at Sainte-Helene in the Saone-et-Loire was founded in 2011 by Julien Dalbec, a state-certified instructor. The site is ten minutes from both Chalon-sur-Saone and Le Creusot; SMX Concept runs further sites at Varennes-le-Grand and Buxy. The ground covers 2.5 hectares with a technical motocross track whose jumps are, the operator says, scaled for every level, plus a separate area for beginners. The courses are rebuilt and reshaped regularly and, again per the operator, are rideable in any weather. On offer are introductory courses for children aged three to six and six to twelve, for teenagers from 13 and for adults, along with intermediate and advanced stages. For 2026 the operator has suspended the courses that come with a rental bike: only courses on your own machine and your own licence are run. Booking is online. The site has a chalet with a bar and snacks, changing rooms, a heated room for winter and a terrace for the people who came along. Because the layout is changed regularly you rarely ride exactly the same track twice here - jumps and lines you memorised may sit somewhere else on your next visit. So plan the visit up front: book online, and for 2026 bring your own bike and a valid licence, or you will stand there with no way to ride.
