Around 47 acres of natural ground on Henry Drum Road near Cohocton, and the circuit takes the topography with it rather than flattening it: steep climbs, equally steep descents, tabletops, whoops and a run of solid jumps. The soil is loose loam and is described as smooth and fast; there are many berms, even more small jumps and a few big ones. Open practice generally runs on selected Thursdays from 17:00 to 20:00 and is weather dependent - call first. 25 dollars per rider, no parking or entry fee, spectator bleachers around the perimeter and flat grassy parking. A midweek evening session is a different animal from a Sunday: you have three hours, and the light gets worse in the second half. Ride the difficult sections early while you can still read the edges cleanly, and save the repetitions for later. On the climbs you meet the problem most common there: the rear spins and loses traction. First on our cause list is too much rear tyre pressure - lowering it enlarges the contact patch and brings the grip back.
