The Taylor family built themselves a motocross park in 2009: 44 acres on Taylor Road in Covington, western New York, with a track roughly one mile long that is groomed and watered for the scheduled dates. The ground is loose, there are trees on the site, and berms and jumps both small and large. Open practice days fall in May, June, July and September; between them run WNYMA-sanctioned races and, in autumn, a well-attended hare scramble. Membership is not required but noticeably cuts practice and race fees - 200 dollars for an individual rider, 350 for a family. Do the arithmetic yourself before you buy the membership: it pays from a certain number of days per season, and only you know that number. At two visits a year you are out of pocket. On a fast circuit of this length one problem reports for duty reliably: the bike goes vague and unsettled in the quick sweepers. Top of our cause list is the sag and ride-height balance - before you touch anything else, set the sag properly.
