Since 2003 the site on Harloff Road near Batavia in western New York has run three tracks. The main circuit measures roughly two miles - exceptional for a motocross track - and lives on off-camber turns, rhythm sections and demanding jumps. Alongside it sit a vet track with doubles, tabletops, triples, rollers and step-ups aimed at newer riders, and the Dunlop Nightcross track, a smaller layout for Saturday night racing. Miles of woods trails surround it, the pit area is large, camping is allowed on race weekends, and season memberships are available. Two miles change how you ration yourself. A lap here lasts long enough that a mistake at the start is not corrected in the same lap - and long enough that you genuinely recover between two jump combinations. Use the long connections to breathe, not to catch up. On the flat, off-camber corners comes the problem most common there: the front pushes and washes out. Top of our cause list is a fork that is too firm and riding too high - take a little compression out so the front bites again.
