Paradox MX in eastern New York State was formerly called Hickory Hill MX and has been taken over by a motocross racer with track-building experience. According to riderplanet-usa the property covers 67 acres; the natural-terrain track runs on loamy ground around a small lake. Recent additions are an automatic irrigation system and 1,500 feet of new fencing, with more sections announced. Riding is seasonal: open practice on Saturdays from 9am to 3pm, AMA District 3 races on Sundays. For practice the source names 5 US dollars entry per person and 35 US dollars per rider, and on race days 15 US dollars entry and 25 US dollars per class; children aged five and under enter free. There is no camping on site. The terrain is rated mostly intermediate with some beginner ground and little expert ground, and the operators ask riders to call first before heading out. Loamy natural ground beside water holds moisture for a long time and forms ruts as soon as the course beds in. That is when the front knifes into the rut and oversteers even though your turn-in was clean. Top of our cause list is a fork set too soft that hangs too low in the stroke - add compression and the front stays up and follows the rut instead of cutting into it.
