ÖMRC Strecke Pyhra

About 200 metres south of the St. Pölten motorway junction, in Brunn near Pyhra, sits the ÖMRC site - and it is more than a track: an MX circuit, a trials garden and an RC track share the ground. The club sees itself as a development programme for young motocross and enduro riders and expects its regulars to help maintain the course. Anyone looking to just consume is at the wrong address. The circuit itself measures around 1000 metres and is a selective natural layout: several very wide jumps with well-built landings, a steep hill that can be bypassed, and a fast downhill. The combination is treacherous - wide jumps with good landings forgive a lot, a fast downhill forgives nothing. The bypassable steep hill is the most honest piece of coaching on the site: you can skip it twenty times and ride it on the twenty-first, when you are ready. What catches you in the fast sections: the bike goes vague and restless. First on our cause list is ride-height and sag balance - set the sag properly before you touch compression or rebound.
