Holstebro Moto Cross Club runs its site at Hesselaavej 41 C in 7500 Holstebro. According to the Danish magazine Crossbladet the club was founded in 1992 but only got its track in 2001; with a steady 150 members it is one of the larger clubs in the country. The maxi track, the Troldkjaerbanen, is 1,575 metres long according to the same source, and there is a half-hard micro track of 640 metres for younger riders. In season, training runs on Tuesdays from 17:00 to 20:00 and on Saturdays from 10:00 to 15:00. Newcomers who want to join are asked on the club site to contact the chairman directly. The site has a large paddock, wash-down and rinsing bays, a clubhouse and spectator banks with a raised walkway. The club is active in racing: in 2025 it honoured medallists from the Danish Mini and Junior championships. The surface is what gives the track its reputation. Crossbladet describes pure, very soft sand that in places feels like riding on a beach; riders call the Troldkjaerbanen the sandbox. Deep sand builds ruts and long swells fast, and the rear starts working the moment you get on the throttle. Top of our cause list for that is rebound that is too fast for sand: when the rear pogos and swims, slow it down - a few clicks less out - before you touch anything else.
