The Fiano Romano motocross track lies north of Rome in the Lazio region. The Italian track directory Tracks by MXCenter names Citta di Fiano as the operating club and lists the venue as a category 3 circuit of 1500 metres; the same source describes the ground as a mix of earth and sand. According to that entry the track is open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 14:00 to 19:00 and on Sunday from 8:00 to 14:00. A cold shower is noted; a bar, 220 volt sockets and floodlighting are explicitly absent, and no separate minicross loop is listed. The source says nothing about fees, and it points out itself that the published times can change without notice. Sandy ground changes the way the suspension works: the rear digs in under power, comes back hard after each hit and builds up a rhythm in the rutted sections until the bike starts to swim between the waves. Top of our cause list here is rear rebound running too fast for sand - slow it a few clicks so the shock returns under control instead of pogoing. Our own record also carries a technical track character, so do not expect long full-throttle stretches.
