Fuji Speedway sits at Oyama in Shizuoka Prefecture; the operator gives its address as 694 Nakahinata, Oyama-cho, Sunto-gun. Wikipedia names Toyota Motor as the owner since 2000, with the circuit run through Fuji International Speedway Co., Ltd. It opened in January 1966 and reopened on 10 April 2005 after the rebuild it had closed for in September 2003. The current lap measures 4.563 kilometres with 16 corners, the straight is 1.475 kilometres long and counts among the longest in motorsport, and a 30-degree banked first turn survives from the original superspeedway concept. For history Wikipedia lists Formula One in 1976 and 1977 and again in 2007 and 2008 - 1976 was the first Formula One race held in Japan - plus the World Sportscar Championship from 1982 to 1988, the Japanese motorcycle Grands Prix of 1966 and 1967, Super GT from 1993 to 2003 and again from 2005, and the FIA WEC from 2012 to 2019 and from 2022. Alongside the Racing Course the venue runs a Short Course, a Multi-Purpose Driving Course and a Gymkhana Course, and it issues its own Fuji Speedway Driving License. Our own record holds asphalt plus the traits fast and technical. A straight of almost 1.5 kilometres means you sit pinned for longer than on most circuits, and any restlessness in the chassis has time to build before the braking zone arrives. Top of our cause list is this: ride-height and sag balance is off with the rear too high - set sag first.
