Eiland van Maurik (EVM19) sits on an island in the floodplains of the Nederrijn between Utrecht and Gelderland. The operator runs it as an event location with more than 16 hectares of grounds, where motorised activities such as quad and 4x4 driving take place alongside team building; everything is booked through the venue, so this is not a track you simply turn up at. For motorcycles the most solid source is the training provider Alex van den Broek Events, which describes the terrain as a mix of soft sand, a beach, wide fast paths, single tracks, elevation change and a stony section. Its allroad weekends start at 10:00 on Saturday and Sunday, break for lunch from 13:00 to 13:30 and finish around 16:00, with roughly two and a half to three hours on a trial bike followed by the same again on your own machine. You stay on site in a tent, camper or van; sanitary facilities exist, mains power explicitly does not. For July 2026 the provider quotes 225 euro for a single training day, 445 to 480 euro for the full weekend and 79 to 158 euro for free riding. The appeal and the difficulty are the same thing: firm stone and wide fast paths turn into soft sand without warning, and there the rear carries you differently than it did two corners earlier. For deep sand, top of our cause list is a rear rebound that is too fast; it makes the rear pogo instead of settling into the sand. Slow the rear rebound by a few clicks before you take on the sand sections.
