Cingoli - Bartolomeo Tittoni

The Crossodromo Bartolomeo Tittoni has belonged to the municipality of Cingoli since 1988 and is run by the Moto Club A. Fagioli. The club writes that the venue was inaugurated in 1956 with an international 500cc motocross race, replacing the earlier Circuito Melletti, and it speaks of more than 75 years of uninterrupted motocross in Cingoli. The land was a gift from Count Bartolomeo Tittoni, whose name the track carries. It lies about 1,500 metres outside town in the Pian dei Conti locality at 740 metres of altitude. The operator gives a start gate 45 metres wide, 83 metres to the first corner and a racing width of 10 to 12 metres; the surface is packed clay and gravel with a drainage system. Two sections have names of their own: the "Cava", a long downhill jump, and the "Valloni", two large hollows that demand careful throttle control. There is a grandstand for more than 500 spectators, a paddock with 120 electrical hook-ups, showers, a bar and parking for over 800 vehicles. Firm ground, a wide racing line and a long run-up add up to high corner speed, and the two hollows compress and release the bike on top of that.
