San Pacifico - San Severino Marche

The Crossodromo San Pacifico sits on Via San Pacifico Divini near San Severino Marche and is run by MotoClub Settempedano. According to Turismo Marche it is one of the oldest tracks in the Marche region and has hosted top-level events over the years. The mxcenter.it track directory lists it at 1,600 metres, hard dirt ground, category 1 and homologations from FMI and UISP; it is open daily from 8:30 am to 7:30 pm, with the usual caveat that times can change. A bar, cold and hot showers and 220 V sockets are available, floodlights are not. The course is continuously reworked, and Turismo Marche still recommends a sighting lap. The track sits on a mountain top, is frequently windy and often under snow in winter; in summer the ground dries out and gets harder. On top of that Turismo Marche describes jumps of medium difficulty and a layout full of climbs and descents - so the rear wheel repeatedly has to put power down uphill on hard ground. If it spins up there and finds no traction, top of our cause list is too much rear tyre pressure: it shrinks the contact patch, and a lower pressure, easy to run with a mousse, brings the grip on the climbs back.
