Monster Mountain MX sits just outside Merthyr Tydfil in South Wales and has been running since 2023 according to the operator. Its 97-plus acres hold five tracks: Mega Monster at 2 km on soil, with permanent start gates on a concrete pad and built for championship rounds; Monster Track at 1.7 km on hard-pack for club racing, practice and wet days; Mini Monsters for youth riders up to 60cc; Mega Mini Monster from age three for electric balance bikes; plus a pit bike track that is also used for weekday education programmes. The operator describes natural elevation changes, jumps, whoops and rhythm sections. Sessions run separately for Adult, Youth and Junior MX and are booked online; riders without a NORA race licence buy a one-event day licence for GBP 10.00. Rounds of the Dirt Store ACU British Championship and the NORA Kids Masters have been held here. Hard-pack with plenty of jumps and real elevation means the landings come hard and often, and a rear end that kicks off the face throws you into the next section crooked. Top of our cause list for that is rebound returning too fast at the rear - slow it down, fewer clicks out, so the rear stays settled over the lip.
