Cache Valley MX Park sits on South State Street in Preston in south-eastern Idaho and has been running since 2006 by its own account. It is operated as a Grassroots Promotions facility; alongside practice it offers riding schools, rounds of the RMX Series, and from August 28 to 30, 2026 the Dynamite Grand Prix, which the promoter describes as a joint weekend for five western off-road series. What a race weekend costs is shown by the RMX Series entry information for round 5, June 19 to 21, 2026: Friday practice from 8:00am to 4:00pm at 35.00 dollars per class, race entry at 45.00 dollars per class in a two-moto format, admission at 20.00 dollars per person Thursday to Saturday and 15.00 dollars on Sunday for ages six and up, plus 30.00 dollars for an overnight RV or trailer spot. An AMA membership is mandatory there - 49.00 dollars a year, 35.00 dollars for youth riders, or 30.00 dollars as a one-event pass. The transponder carries a 200 dollar deposit, refunded on return. Our own record has this down as loamy ground with jumps. Loam holds a line, but under load it works itself into deep ruts quickly, and that is where a lap is won or lost. If the front knifes into a rut and steers further than you asked it to, top of our cause list is a fork that is too soft, rides too deep in the stroke and folds into the rut.
