The Billings Motorcycle Club runs its grounds on Old Blue Creek Road south of Billings, Montana. The club states on its site that it was founded in 1914, which makes it one of the longest-running motorcycle clubs in the country; the property covers 1,421 acres and carries eight tracks. Named layouts cover motocross, supercross, flat track, endurocross, cross country, hare scrambles, hill climbs, sand drags and a 50s track for the youngest riders. The club also holds the registered designation Motorcycle Hill Climbing Capital of the World. Worth planning around: membership runs on fixed windows - new members can join between 1 December and the first Wednesday of October, while existing members renew between 1 December and the first Wednesday of February. Concrete practice times and day-rider fees are not listed on the page we read; the club instead provides webcams looking over the grounds. Our own record holds loam as the ground plus the traits jumps, fast and technical. Eight tracks on one property means the ground behaves differently through the day, and on the loam we have on record a session cuts deep ruts, where the front wheel suddenly gets more guidance than you expected. If it knifes in and oversteers in the rut, top of our cause list is this: the fork rides too low, meaning it is too soft, and knifes into the rut - add compression. Treat that as a starting point you still have to ride and check yourself.
