The Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari sits in Imola in Emilia-Romagna and opened on 25 April 1953 according to Wikipedia. It is owned by the company SAGIS, and former Formula 1 team boss Giancarlo Minardi serves as circuit president. The Grand Prix layout measures 4.909 kilometres across 19 turns, the motorcycle layout 4.936 kilometres across 20 turns, and the venue holds an FIA Grade 1 homologation. For riders the racing history is the real point: the same source records the Superbike World Championship running at Imola from 2001 to 2006, from 2009 to 2019 and most recently in 2023, alongside rounds of the Italian and San Marino motorcycle Grand Prix. On the car side the San Marino Grand Prix was held here from 1981 to 2006 and the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix from 2020 onwards. Our own record lists asphalt as the surface and roughly 4,909 metres of length. Track day dates, fees and access rules for private riders are not documented in the source we checked - settle them with the operator before you travel. Despite the speed, Imola is not a pure high-speed circuit. Tamburello, Variante Alta and Variante Bassa are chicanes today, and Wikipedia describes the site as relatively flat with limited elevation change. What taxes you is the chain of direction changes: you have to flick the bike over in quick succession and still arrive cleanly at every apex. If turn-in goes lazy and the bike runs wide through the chicanes, top of our cause list is this: too little rear ride height makes the steering lazy - raise the rear (or drop the front) to sharpen turn-in. Treat that as a starting point, not a guarantee - change it in small steps and judge it over several laps.
