Albany MX Park is at 33648 Berry Dr NE in Albany, Oregon, and by its own account has been run by the Leach family for over 50 years. Public practice runs Wednesdays from 3pm until dark and Saturdays and Sundays from 8am to 4pm; private practice is available on weekdays by arrangement, with riding tips and lessons on request. The Fast Pass costs $750 a year and covers all Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday public practices plus additional unscheduled public practices; the operator puts the value at over $1,100. The layout is rebuilt every week according to the operator, and the track is fully prepped and watered. The site has restrooms, showers, a concession stand and a limited number of hookups; freeway access, hotels, restaurants and gas stations are within about three miles. Besides motocross the operator keeps a separate sand drag schedule as well as rounds on the Oregon State calendar and Gold Cup dates. A track length is not publicly documented. Our record lists loam plus the traits jumps and technical. A watered loam course that is re-laid every week builds deep ruts over the day, and that is exactly where it is decided whether the front follows the line or knifes into the rut. Top of our cause list is this: the front knifes and oversteers in ruts because the fork rides too low and is too soft - add compression. Treat that as a starting point, not a finished setup.
